OUR STORY

1st Generation Family-Owned Farm

Started in 2012 and encouraged into new endeavors by shortages in 2020, Rock River Farm has grown from a self-sustainability project to offering farm fresh food to the community.

ABOUT ROCK RIVER FARM

Rock River Farm came to be in early 2012. It was an abandoned farm complete with piles of junk and half collapsed buildings. Clean up was slow but steady and in early 2015, we packed up and moved to the Farm with two chickens, two dogs, a horse, and a cat.

 It was only the beginning!

Our flock of chickens grew steadily and in 2020, ducks became a

permanent addition to the flock!

In spring 2021, we added Mabel, the Jersey milk cow, and her steer calf, Barney.

"Cow Math" ensued! Petunia the Jersey heifer joined the herd soon after.

Hilda & Fiona the Scottish Highland Heifers arrived in May. Their mamas, Rhonda & Wanda, arrived in August. Bill, the Scottish Highland bull completed our foundation Highland herd. The goats, Becky & Freya, unexpectedly came in the fall, followed by Jersey cow, Blossom, and her two heifer calves, Violet & Clover.

And it all started with two chickens!

FAMILY OWNED, PASTURE RAISED, & HOME GROWN

We believe in raising our animals as close to nature as possible. However, we will never let our preferences compromise the health or wellbeing of our animals.

Currently, Rock River Farm offers pasture raised chicken eggs year round & pasture raised duck eggs seasonally, spring through fall.

We also offer a limited number of raw cow and goat milk shares.

Highland beef will be offered in 2024.
